Elizabeth Herrmann
Welcome! Thanks for being here. I’m an environmental scientist and I’m passionate about collaborating with people to monitor, restore, and better understand aquatic ecosystems. I have several years of experience monitoring water quality, collecting (legally defensible) data, assessing risk exposure, conducting habitat assessments, and managing restoration projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.
In 2024, I completed my Master’s degree at the University of Idaho in Environmental Science, where my research focused on monitoring tire pollution in rivers throughout Idaho and Washington. In 2024, I began working as an Environmental Scientist for Genwest Systems to contract with NOAA’s Office of Response and Restoration division. After NOAA became a target for DOGE, I transitioned out of the federal government and accepted a job as an Environmental Biologist and Planner for the Coquille Indian Tribe.
My long-term career goal is to leverage my experiences to continuously learn, adapt, and improve ecosystems by connecting with stakeholders in coastal regions of the Pacific Northwest.

P.S. If you’re interested in learning more about the EPA-funded project (grant #44-02J19601) I helped develop, check out the website link here: https://tiretox.org/.
